I've worn this jumper in a previous photo but as more of a dress. This time I decided to wear it as a shirt and I was pleasantly surprised with how flattering it can be as a summer top. Since i bought it over a year ago I've worn it as a dress with leggings.
I really like this scalloped shorts with this geometric pattern. It feels fun for the summer without being too "kitchy". Plus the material is lightweight so its nice for these few sunny days we have here in Seattle.

U.S.A

This post is a little late, I got caught up with my dad coming home and everything. I wore this orange lipstick/orange-cicle necklace on the fourth of july. I dont like wearing red, white, and blue so i decided to wear something summery. Why the hoodie then? Because it was 59 degrees that night while Anthony and I watched the fireworks! I've never experienced such a cold fourth of july in my life!

Polaroids.

I decided to photograph my polaroids (the poor man's scanner) and post them because these pictures are so interesting. The first two are from my birthday when my friends and I went to the hookah bar in the U district and the final one is of my aunt on Christmas taking out the ham. I will make a habit of posting my polaroids (techincally fugifilm but whatever) frequently. They might not be related to "style" but they're cool to look at.

Neutral Grounds.

Today, I decided to go for a more neutral look. I found these shorts at the Goodwill Bins (great find... my size and Banana Republic) along with the belt. Sorry my head is cut off, It had to be in order to get a flattering full body shot of my outfit and shoes. I really liked the simplicity of this outfit and I like the way khaki and black look together. I think it makes for a really mature combination.

David happened to wear the same color scheme today so I am going to have him take some photos with me to post up here. I plan on taking some with Willem too because he's light brown and black too, so keep your eyes open for that.

Wearing these potentially "mom-like" shorts was a little scary at first but they are so flattering and very comfortable. Plus they don't cause the dreaded muffin top. And I will tell you, I'd rather have a mom butt than a muffin top any day of the week.

It feels Like Summer.

I've been slacking this week, choosing to swap out my heels for slippers and relaxing on my bed. My style blog isn't the only thing I've slacked on... i have neglected the wii fit for 8 days (i was shocked to realize this) and haven't been painting much. After not getting the job at UO, I decided my time was better spent relaxing and enjoying not having any responsibilities (besides Willem, of course).

Nothing I am wearing is thrift besides my belt (which i found at the bins) and my pins. Both pins were acquired at the Berlin Farmers Market in Berlin, New Jersey a few summers back. I love that place because they always have the best jewelry and stolen designer goods.

I admit that this outfit isnt the most flattering in photos, but it's comfy and a great way to wear a t shirt stylishly. I have also been going make up free these past few days and its paying off... my skin feels great. Its nice to give your face a break sometimes.

Lazy Daze.

Today is a no make up kind of day. I decided to switch out the platforms I've been wearing for my slippers. I plan on spending today practicing my watercolor, playing the sims, and maybe reading. I finally found a great way to wear these tights without looking like I just walked out of the '80's... a basic neutral on top like this cream V neck sweater I just bought. This is probably one of the most stylish and comfy outfits I have ever worn.

Lace and Gold.

I decided to wear my H&M lace body suit as a top... a very daring move. I was afraid of it coming off hoochie so I made sure to wear a black bra that covered everything including my clevage, a cardigan, and a big gold necklace. This was successful and I am excited to participate in the sheer trend.

Quick and Easy Facial

I came up with this quick and easy facial last night while making some Ramen for a nighttime snack.

  1. Boil some water (hence how ramen comes into the situation) and have a bowl, a towel, and some lemon ready.
  2. Squeeze the lemon into the bowl with no water. As soon as the water is ready, pour it into the bowl.
  3. quickly put your face over the steam and drape a towel over your head to trap any excess steam that might try to escape. Stay under there for as long as you like or can stand it.
  4. Once you are ready, wash your face with an exfoliant scrub. I prefer St. Ives Apricot Scrub (as pictured below).
  5. When you are done washing, cover your face in a pore tightening mask like Queen Helene's Mint Julep Masque. Keep this on for about 10 minutes or when it is completely dry. Do not put too much on, or else youll be sitting there forever.
  6. Eat the ramen while the mask dries (thats the best part)
  7. Rinse off the mask and splash cold water on your face. End with your favorite moisturizer.

You should feel rejuvenated and fresh! Try not to wear makeup for the next day so you can keep your pores nice and clean.

Floral and Fishtails

I remember the day that I bought this floral dress. My parents and I took out first family trip to Seattle together my sophomore year. It was late spring, early summer and we stopped inside of Urban Outfitters (I had never personally been to the store because they didnt have them in Kansas or Virginia). I found this floral dress in the sales section and I almost had a heart attack. I instantly fell in love.

But I didnt try it on. Back then I didnt know how to wear it and it was unflattering to my figure. I also didnt own a strapless bra which made everything difficult. I couldnt part with it though and I put it in storage.

I took it out this beautiful sunny day and decided to give it a second chance. I am so glad that I did because I soon realized that if I wore a belt around my waist then the fitting issue would be resolved and I now have another cute summer dress for this season.

Floral and Fishtails cont.

I finally attempted a fishtail braid and the rumors are true... it is a lot easier than it seems. The only problem is that it makes your arms cramp up because it is very time consuming. If you are patient, then you shall reap the rewards of this really cool woven hairstyle.

Same Dress, Different Sweater.

Fishtail Braids.

Ive been trying to incorporate more dresses into my summer wardrobe. I used to be really into dresses my senior year but now they seem a little too formal for what I am going for. By pairing this skin tight American Appael U boat dress with this oversized vintage cardigan, i felt a lot less done up than if I wore a blazer or something.

I have also found a more efficient yet lesser quality way of taking photos of myself which is to just use the photobooth setting on my mac. They pictures wont be amazing but it makes taking photos more convenient of my outfit. You have no idea how challenging it is to set up the tripod and camera every day. I will use my nice camera for special occasion or if i can have someone else take the photo.

Its been shitty week for fashion in my life, but i feel that the winds are changing. I just need a little motivation.
